Our Supernatural Faith-Filled Birth Story ✨

October 2, 2025

Throughout my pregnancy, Christian Hypnobirthing became one of the most powerful tools for both spiritual and mental preparation. I listened to the tracks daily — while falling asleep, during showers, and sometimes multiple times a day in the third trimester. Most nights, I would dim the lights, turn on my red light therapy lamp, and “practice” laboring in the shower, breathing through imaginary contractions while inviting the Lord into every moment. I even practiced in other areas of the house so that by the time real labor came, my body, mind, and spirit already knew what to do. These moments became my favorite part of the day — a quiet, worshipful time where I learned to trust my body, my breath, and God’s design for birth.

At 4 a.m. on October 2nd, nearly two weeks before my due date, I woke up to find my mucus plug had started coming out. My contractions started soon after, and they were immediately strong. I’m convinced I must’ve slept through most of my early active labor because they hit with such intensity! That morning also brought so much laughter and joy — my sister-in-law came over with breakfast and ended up helping my husband set up the birth pool and wrangle our goats and dogs. It was chaotic, hilarious, and full of oxytocin — exactly what I needed to start labor with joy. To top it off, it seemed all the babies in our midwives’ care decided to be born that same day! Our primary midwife had two other women in labor, meaning she might not make it to ours. Yet instead of fear, I felt a deep, steady peace. The Lord had already written this story, and I trusted Him completely. Since Thursdays weren’t our grocery days, we had almost nothing ready for labor snacks or meals. My mother-in-law graciously went out and bought a whole week’s worth of groceries, quietly dropping them off and slipping out — another small but beautiful act of love that made me feel supported and allowed us to labor in peace.

From 4 a.m. until around 6 or 7, I labored in recliners and in bed, breathing through each wave with the hypnobirthing tracks playing softly in the background. Around 7 a.m., my water broke, and we saw that Theron had passed some meconium, meaning I technically had 24 hours to deliver before we’d need to consider transferring. Even then, I felt an incredible, steady peace that both of us would be just fine. My midwife arrived around 8 a.m. and checked me — I was at 5 cm. Right after that, I threw up, which meant things were really progressing. Since she had to leave to attend another mama who was pushing, her backup midwife came. When she walked in, the peace she carried filled the whole house, and I immediately felt God’s presence. She encouraged me to turn on my favorite hypnobirthing track and labor in the shower with the red light on, just as I had practiced for months. I did this, alternating between the shower and what we lovingly called the “dilation station” (the toilet seat turned backward with a pillow for my head).

The hypnobirthing tracks guided me through every contraction, helping me breathe, stay relaxed, and trust my body. By 11:30, I was at 8 cm and beginning to feel the gentle urge to push at the end of contractions. My husband played worship music and prayed over me, speaking encouragement while I heard the hypnobirthing track guiding me in my mind — reminding me to breathe, soak in the quiet moments between waves, and trust that every contraction was purposeful. At 2 p.m., I got into the birthing pool and began pushing. The moment I entered the warm water, it felt sacred — like God’s presence was tangible in the room. I trusted my body, the process, and His perfect design for birth. The hypnobirthing tracks, the worship music, and months of preparation gave me confidence, and I felt completely supported by the Lord and my husband. I pushed in the water until around 2:40, when it started to cool, then got out.

Just minutes later, our sweet Theron was born — standing and squatting beside the pool, breathing peacefully and powerfully. His cord was short due to my anterior placenta, so we took our time after delivering the placenta, and he latched almost immediately. It was such a tender, miraculous moment. Even though our primary midwife missed the birth because all the babies decided to come that day, the midwives who were there took excellent care of us. The Lord answered so many prayers — even down to the time of day I had prayed for him to arrive. It was a beautiful, sunny October day. My husband had the windows and doors open, fall air drifting through the house, twinkle lights glowing on our mantle, and cozy autumn décor surrounding us. It was exactly the calm, worshipful, intimate environment I had envisioned — a perfect blend of home, love, and God’s presence. and I like to think our little Theron decided to come early because he must’ve heard that mine and my husbands spiritual father was visiting our farm that weekend. We actually named him Theron after this man, and it feels so special that he arrived earthside just in time to meet him.

People often ask how I managed an unmedicated birth with minimal tearing. I could talk about the breathing techniques, the pelvic floor work, and the hypnobirthing tracks, but the real secret was my husband’s unwavering support. He prayed, encouraged, and held space for me in ways I didn’t even know I’d need. I truly believe God used him as my anchor, and our son now has the best example of a Godly man in his daddy. Looking back, I know that the peace and confidence I felt came from both God’s presence and the preparation I had done with Christian Hypnobirthing. Those months of practice, prayer, and trust made every contraction, every wave, and every breath a holy, worshipful moment.

This birth wasn’t just natural — it was supernatural. It was worship. It was trust. It was God showing me that He designed our bodies perfectly, and that when we lean into His presence, even the hardest waves can feel sacred. Our son’s birth was a testimony of God’s faithfulness — peaceful, powerful, and full of love. 🌿
