She's here! Our 50 Hour Dream Home Birth ✨

Here is my birth story of our little girl:

On Wednesday evening, after a day of uncomfortable cramps and aches, labour started and continued to build into the night and throughout the next day.

By Thursday evening, I was tired after 24 hours of steady labour yet the progress was slow because of her posterior position.

I continued to labour through Thursday night and into Friday with the waves becoming increasingly intense and with shorter breaks in between.

The visualisation track carried me through hours of labour through the night and next day.

By 5:30pm on Friday, 46 hours into labour, my waters broke and things began to shift.

The intensity increased significantly and it was worship, prayer and focused breathing that moved me through each wave.

At 8pm, I got into the water and felt my body bearing down, I was just so thankful to be there and finally getting close to meeting our little girl.

At 9:17pm, after 50 hours of labour, our precious little girl was born quickly and safely in the quiet of our home.

Going into labour, I was unsure of how a posterior baby position would impact my ability to cope and birth naturally at home. It was such a marathon of a mind-game as my body worked hard with seemingly minimal physical progress, but my body knew what it was doing.

There were some moments that I questioned my ability to continue and it was in those moments that my husband, my incredible midwife and the small voice inside my heart reminded me that God created my body for this and the best thing I could do was to surrender, breathe and trust Gods design.

✨This course gave me the trust and patience to trust my body and Gods incredible design for birth, even when progress was slow.

✨The soundtracks carried me through hours and hours of labour, offering me peace and strength to continue.

✨This course gave me confidence in my body's design and invited Gods strength into moments of my complete surrender and weakness, I know I was able to have the birth I prayed for, full of peace, safety and at home because of all I learnt through this course - I really am so thankful for it and know that it equipped me with what I needed to have the birth I thought and prayed for - forever thankful!!

Even though it was the hardest thing I have ever done, I want to give birth again and again!

Thank you very much,

Darcee Braun
